Three export buttons sit at the top of Time Management:

  • Gusto CSV — a payroll-ready file for Gusto: one row per employee for the period, with regular, overtime, and time-off hours split out. Gusto's import maps the columns automatically.
  • Export CSV — the general spreadsheet of the timecards in view, for records or any other payroll system.
  • Print view — a printable page of the same list, for paper files or a supervisor sign-off.

Filters shape the file

Exports follow the pay period, date range, and employee filter you have set. The Gusto CSV deliberately ignores the status pills and search — payroll needs the whole period, not the subset you were reviewing. The CSV and print exports match exactly what is on screen, search included.

A payroll run, start to finish

  1. Pick the closing Pay period.
  2. Clear the Pending pill: fix what needs fixing, approve the rest.
  3. Settle any open punch change requests.
  4. Click Gusto CSV (or Export CSV) and hand the file to payroll.
Tip: rejected-and-excluded hours are left out of pay totals automatically — no need to delete anything before exporting.
