As a supervisor or administrator, you manage the time-off requests submitted by your employees. The admin time-off list shows every request across the company in one place.
Viewing requests
Go to Time Off in the navigation and switch to List View. The table shows each request with the submission date, employee, type, start, end, quantity, and status (pending, approved, rejected, or cancelled).
Approving a request
- Find a pending request in the list.
- Click the Approve action.
- Pick a shift handling option: Keep employee assigned to shift or Remove employee (shift stays open). This only applies when the request overlaps a scheduled shift. Remove is the default.
- Submit the form. The status changes to approved, the hours are deducted from the employee's balance, and the time-off hours are written to their timecard.
Denying a request
Click the Deny action on the request and confirm. The status changes to rejected. No balance is deducted.
Cancelling an approved request
If plans change after you have already approved a request, click the Cancel Approval action. The hours are refunded to the employee's balance, the timecard entry is reversed, and the status changes to cancelled. Use this when an employee's time off needs to be revoked -- for example, during a staffing emergency.
Example
You have four pending requests for the same holiday weekend. You can only approve two because you need minimum staffing. You click Approve on the first two, choose Remove employee (shift stays open) so you can backfill, and click Deny on the other two. All four employees see their updated status.
