When you need off a shift you are already scheduled for, request it from that shift. The times fill in for you and your supervisor sees exactly which shift is affected.

Step by step

  1. From the navigation, click My Schedule.
  2. Click the day with the shift. The Shift information window opens on the My Shift tab.
  3. Click Request shift off next to the shift.
  4. The From and To times default to the full shift. Adjust them if you only need part of it — leaving early for an appointment, for example.
  5. Pick a Time-off type (your agency's list — PTO, Sick, and so on).
  6. Add a Reason if you want your supervisor to see one.
  7. Click Submit.

What happens next

The shift now carries a Time off pill showing the request status: Pending until a supervisor acts on it, then Approved or Denied. While it is pending or approved you can click Edit on the pill to change the times or cancel it. Cancelling an approved request returns the deducted hours to your balance.

For time off that is not tied to a scheduled shift — a vacation two months out, for example — use the Time Off page instead.
