When you need time off, you request it against a specific shift on your schedule. Your supervisor reviews the request and either approves or rejects it.
Step by step
- Open My Schedule from the menu.
- Click the day on the calendar where the shift you want off is scheduled.
- On the My Shift tab, click Request Shift Off next to the shift.
- A modal opens titled "Request Time-Off for [shift title]." The Start and End fields are pre-filled from the shift.
- Pick the Time-Off Type you want to use (vacation, sick, personal, or whatever your agency has set up).
- Add a Reason if you want to.
- Click Submit.
What happens next
Your request goes to your supervisor with a status of pending. They will review it and either approve or reject it. The My Shift tab shows a status icon next to the shift, and the request appears on your Upcoming Time Off Requests table.
If you change your mind
You can cancel a pending or approved request the same way you made it: open the day on My Schedule, then click Cancel next to the shift and confirm.
Before you submit
- Check your balances first. The form rejects the request if you do not have enough hours for that date, including projected accruals.
- Use the time-off calculator to verify your projected balance if the time off is weeks or months away.
Example
You want to take July 12 off for a family event. You open My Schedule, click July 12, and see your 12-hour shift on the My Shift tab. You click Request Shift Off, choose Vacation, type "Family reunion" as the reason, and submit. The shift now has a pending clock icon, and the request appears on your Upcoming Time Off Requests.
Tip
Submit requests as early as possible. It gives your supervisor more time to arrange coverage and makes approval more likely.
