The punch clock is on your dashboard. You use it to record when your shift starts and when it ends. These records feed into your timecard and hours calculations.
What the card shows
The punch clock card shows the current server time, your current status (In or Out), and your current or next shift block with the shift title, date, and start time. Once you are punched in, it also shows when your last punch in happened.
Punching in
- Go to the dashboard.
- Find the punch clock card.
- Click the button. The label reads Punch In in normal cases, or Punch In Early / Punch In Late if you are outside your agency's grace window.
- If a comment is required, a Comment box opens. Type a short note explaining the situation, then click the button again.
- The status flips to In and your last punch-in time appears on the card.
Punching out
- When your shift is done, go back to the dashboard.
- Click Punch Out.
- If prompted, add a comment.
- Your shift is recorded as complete.
Comments
Some agencies require comments when you punch in early, punch in late, or punch out late. The card tells you when a comment is required and why. You can also click Add Comment at any time to attach a note to the punch.
Next shift preview
When you have a shift within the next 24 hours (or are inside one now), the card shows Current Shift or Next Shift with the title, date, and start time. If nothing is scheduled, you see "No upcoming shifts."
Example
Your shift starts at 0700. You arrive at 0645, open the dashboard, and see the punch clock showing your 0700 shift as Next Shift. The button reads Punch In Early because you are outside the normal window. You click it, type "Arrived early for equipment check" in the Comment box that appears, and confirm. At 1900, you punch out. Your timecard now shows 12 hours and 15 minutes for this shift.
