Service milestones track how long each person has been with your agency. The system calculates years of service from their hire date and shows the next anniversary for each person so you can plan recognition.

Viewing milestones

  1. Open Awards & Recognition from the menu and click the Service Milestones tab.
  2. The table lists each person with their Employee name, Hire Date, Years of Service, and Next Anniversary.
  3. Sort by Next Anniversary to bring the soonest anniversaries to the top.

Planning ahead

Sort by Next Anniversary at the start of each month to see whose anniversary is coming up. This gives you time to order service pins, schedule a ceremony, or simply make sure the recognition does not get overlooked on a busy day.

Why it matters

Recognizing years of service is a small thing that has a big effect on morale. A firefighter who has given 20 years to your department deserves to have that noticed. The Service Milestones tab makes sure it is.

Example

In early December you open Service Milestones, sort by Next Anniversary, and see that three people are hitting 10, 15, and 25 years in January. You order the appropriate service pins and coordinate with the chief to present them at the January department meeting. None of the three are surprised by a last-minute ceremony because you planned ahead.
