Every pre-plan is attached to a property. Pick the property first, then write the plan.
Step by step
- From the menu, click Pre-Plans.
- Click New Pre-Plan.
- Type part of the property name or address in the search box. Pick the right property.
- Fill in the basic details (see below).
- Click Save.
The basic details
- Title -- Defaults to "Property Pre-Plan." Change it to something specific if the property has more than one pre-plan, like Building B Pre-Plan or After-Hours Pre-Plan.
- Summary -- A short response brief. Plain text. One or two sentences the officer can read in seconds.
- Response Priority -- Low, Medium, High, or Critical. Use it to flag target hazards.
- Building -- If the property has more than one building and this pre-plan is for one of them, pick the building. Leave it blank if the pre-plan covers the whole property.
What happens after you save
The pre-plan opens in the editor with the status Draft. You can add sections, upload photos and aerial maps, draw on them, and keep editing until it is ready for review. See Pre-plan statuses and approval for the lifecycle.
Tips
- If the property already has a pre-plan, the Pre-Plan tab on the property record will link to it. Open it from there instead of starting a new one.
- Large complexes are often easier with one pre-plan per building. The property record links to all of them.
