The hydrant list is the table version of the map. Use it when you want to scan many hydrants at once, sort them by a particular column, or find the ones that have not been inspected in a while.

Opening the list

  1. From the menu, click Hydrants.
  2. Click the List tab.

What you see

The columns shown by default are:

  • Hydrant # -- The number you use to identify the hydrant.
  • Address -- The street address closest to the hydrant.
  • Status -- Active, Inactive, or Out of Service, with a color badge.
  • Type -- Dry-barrel or wet-barrel.
  • Last Inspection -- The completed date of the most recent inspection, or a dash if there has never been one.

You can show more columns through the column toggle: Ownership, Year Installed, and Added.

Sorting and filtering

  • Click any column header to sort by that column. Click it again to reverse the order.
  • The search box at the top searches the hydrant number and address.
  • The filter controls let you narrow by status, type, or ownership.

Opening a hydrant

Every row has a view icon (an eye) and an edit icon (a pencil) at the far right.

  • Click the eye icon to open the hydrant's detail page.
  • Click the pencil icon to open the hydrant in edit mode.

Examples

Finding hydrants that have never been inspected. Click the Last Inspection header to sort. The hydrants with no inspection date will sort to the top or bottom depending on direction. Those are your priority for the next round.

Reviewing out-of-service hydrants. Set the status filter to Out of Service. The list now shows only those hydrants. Check that each one has a recent maintenance record explaining why.
