The Attachments tab on a property is where you upload anything that helps a crew understand the building -- photos, floor plans, hydrant maps, SDS sheets, owner emails. Each file can be tagged with a type, given a caption, and flagged for inclusion in inspection reports.

Uploading a file

  1. Open the property.
  2. Click the Attachments tab.
  3. Pick the scope -- Property, Building, Occupancy, or Inspection Finding.
  4. Drag the file onto the upload area, or click and pick the file.
  5. Add a caption and pick a type.
  6. If the attachment should appear on inspection reports, toggle Include in Report on.
  7. Click Save.

What to know

  • The maximum file size is 20 MB. You can upload up to 25 files at once.
  • Image files (JPG, PNG, GIF) preview inline. Other file types show an icon and the file name.
  • Use the scope tabs to organize attachments. A building photo belongs on the building. A photo of a violation belongs on the inspection finding.
  • Only attachments with Include in Report turned on appear in the inspection PDF. Internal-only photos can stay off the report.

Tips

  • Floor plans uploaded as PDFs or images can be pulled into a pre-plan later and marked up with hazards and access points.
  • Captions matter. Sprinkler room from inside the back door is much more useful than image047.jpg.
