What this report shows

The movement audit is the most detailed report in Drug Tracking. It shows every single inventory movement — every receive, transfer, return, adjustment, dispense, and consume event — in chronological order. Think of it as the full transaction ledger for your drug inventory.

How to access it

Go to Reporting from the menu and select Movement Audit. This section is only available to admins.

Transaction types

Each entry in the audit has a transaction type that tells you what happened:

  • Receive — new stock was received into a location (e.g., a shipment from a supplier).
  • Transfer In — stock was moved in from another location within your agency.
  • Transfer Out — stock was moved out to another location within your agency.
  • Return — stock was returned to a previous location.
  • Adjust — a manual adjustment was made to correct a count (up or down).
  • Dispense — a drug was administered to a patient.
  • Consume — a drug was used, wasted, or destroyed.

What each entry includes

Every entry shows the transaction type, the drug name, the quantity, the location, the user who performed it, and the exact date and time. If lot numbers and barcodes are available, those are included too.

Example

Your agency received a shipment of Fentanyl on Monday. On Tuesday, 10 vials were transferred from the station drug room to Medic 12. On Wednesday, a crew used 1 vial on a call and consumed (wasted) the remaining half-dose. The movement audit shows all four events in order: Receive, Transfer Out (from station), Transfer In (to Medic 12), and Consume.

Tip

The movement audit is the best place to go when you need to reconstruct the complete history of a specific drug at a specific location. Filter by both the drug and the location, then read the entries in order.
