When you reseal
You reseal a location at the end of a checkout, when you are ready to check the location back in. The Check in inventory modal asks for the new seal number before it lets you finish.
Step by step
- Physically apply a new tamper-evident seal to the drug box or compartment.
- Read the number printed on the new seal.
- In the Check in inventory modal, enter that number in the New seal number field for the location.
- Click Check In.
Who is recorded
Drug Tracking records your name and the time you entered the new seal number. This means there is always a person attached to every seal change. If questions come up later about who sealed the box, the answer is in the system.
What if I forget the seal number
If you already applied the seal and cannot remember the number, you will need to look at it again. The seal number is usually printed on both the tag and the pull-tab. Do not guess — an incorrect seal number will cause a mismatch for the next crew, which creates unnecessary confusion.
Tip
Some crews write the new seal number on a piece of tape and stick it to the outside of the box as a quick reference. This way, if someone needs to confirm the seal number without opening the system, they can just look at the box. Just make sure the number in Drug Tracking is the official record.
