The Time Zone setting makes sure every time displayed in Crew Scheduling matches your local time. Shift start and end times, punch records, and calendar events are stored in UTC internally and rendered in this time zone.

Setting your time zone

  1. Open Settings from your profile menu.
  2. Expand Preferences.
  3. In the Time Zone dropdown, pick your IANA time zone (for example, America/New_York or America/Chicago).
  4. Click Save.

Changing the time zone after shifts exist

If your company already has shifts in the system and you change the time zone, a modal asks how to handle existing data. You can either keep the displayed clock times the same (shifting the underlying UTC records) or leave the UTC records alone and let the new time zone re-interpret them.

Why it matters

If the time zone is wrong, shift times display at the wrong hour. A shift meant to start at 07:00 Eastern could show as 04:00 Pacific. Punch records appear at the wrong times, which creates confusion on timecards.

When to set it

Set the time zone when you first configure Crew Scheduling, before creating shifts or having anyone punch in.
