Rotations define repeating work cycles your company uses. Shift templates point at a rotation and use its pattern to decide which days to generate shifts on.

Getting there

Open Settings from your profile menu and expand Rotations.

Creating a rotation

  1. Click the create button at the top of the table.
  2. Enter a Title (for example, "24/48 A Crew").
  3. Pick a Color to make the rotation easy to spot on the calendar.
  4. Toggle Primary if this is a primary rotation.
  5. Pick a Start Date. It must be a Sunday -- rotations work a whole week at a time and Sunday anchors each week.
  6. Use the Rotation Pattern calendar picker to tick the days this rotation works. The picker spans as many weeks as your rotation is long.
  7. Submit.

Editing and deleting

Each row has an Edit action (pencil icon) and a delete action. Editing a rotation opens the same form with its current values.

Example

Your department runs three crews (A, B, C) on a one-week rotation. You create three rotations with start dates on three different Sundays and tick the days each crew works. When you build shift templates, you point each template at the matching rotation and the templates generate shifts only on that crew's days.
