When you have finished a PCR and are ready to commit it, you submit it. This locks the report and moves it to the next step in your agency's workflow.

Submit
- Open the PCR.
- Click Submit at the top of the form.
- CloudPCR runs the validation check. This takes 20 to 30 seconds.
- If the check passes, the PCR's status changes to Submitted.
- If the check fails, you will see a popup with the count of errors and an option to open the validation panel and fix them.
What submitting does
- The status changes from In Progress to Submitted.
- The PCR is locked. You can no longer edit it from the form.
- The PCR becomes visible to quality review.
- If your agency uses billing, the PCR becomes visible to your billing team.
- If a quality review rule matches this PCR, the right reviewer is notified.
How strict is the check
Your agency picks how strict the validation check is, in Settings → Preferences. There are two levels:
- Strict (default) — both errors and warnings block submission.
- Errors only — only errors block submission. Warnings are shown but ignored.
What if I need to fix something after submitting
You can no longer edit a submitted PCR yourself. Ask a supervisor — they can move the PCR back to In Progress for you, you make your fix, and you submit again. Every change is logged in the audit log.
An example
You are at the end of your shift and you have one PCR left to submit. You click submit. The validation check runs and finds 1 warning — "Pain scale not recorded." You think about it: the patient was unconscious so a pain scale didn't apply. You decide to add a quick note in the narrative explaining that, then click submit again. This time it goes through and you can sign out.
