This report counts, per provider, PCRs where the initial patient acuity (eSituation.13) was Critical (Red) or Emergent (Yellow) but the procedures count on the PCR is zero.

The Critical Patients Without Procedures report grid.

How to use it

  1. Open Operations → Provider Quality → Critical Patients Without Procedures.
  2. Pick a window.
  3. The grid shows providers, the count of flagged PCRs, the total Critical/Emergent PCRs they ran, and the percentage flagged.

What this is — and is not — flagging

"Critical patient, no procedures" is the kind of pattern that warrants a closer look but does not necessarily indicate poor care:

  • Documentation gap — most likely cause. The provider performed procedures (IV, monitoring, even basic positioning) but did not log them on the procedures tab.
  • Patient refused interventions — sometimes the right answer is "the patient is critical AND refused everything I offered."
  • Under-treatment — the case where the report is doing useful work. Genuine "I should have at least gotten an IV and a monitor" cases.

Provider conversations off this report should always assume the documentation explanation first.
