Every inspection you record is saved in a table on the hydrant's detail page under the Inspections tab.
Columns
- Scheduled Date -- When the inspection was supposed to happen.
- Completed Date -- When the inspection was actually performed. Shows a dash if it has not been completed yet.
- Inspector -- The person who performed the inspection.
- Result -- A colored badge: green for Pass, red for Fail, yellow for Pending.
- Follow-up -- A checkmark icon if follow-up is required, or blank if it is not.
Sorting
The table sorts by scheduled date (newest first) by default. Click any column header to sort by that column instead.
Pagination
You can show 10 or 25 records per page using the controls at the bottom.
Editing and deleting
Each row has an edit (pencil) icon to update the inspection (for example, to change the result from Pending to Pass after completing it) and a delete (trash) icon to remove it. Deleting asks for confirmation.
Spotting hydrants that need attention
Look at the Result and Follow-up columns together. If a hydrant has a red Fail badge and a checkmark in the Follow-up column, it needs work. If the Completed Date is still a dash, the inspection has not happened yet and someone should be assigned to do it.
Example
You scheduled 50 inspections for this quarter. Open each hydrant's detail page and look at the Inspections tab. Any inspection with a Pending result and no completed date has not been done yet. Any inspection with a Fail result and a follow-up checkmark needs a repair visit.
Tip
Use the hydrant list and sort by Last Inspection to quickly find hydrants across your entire inventory that are overdue. Hydrants with a dash in that column have never been inspected and should be prioritized.
