When you click a hydrant marker on the map, a panel slides in from the right side of the screen. This gives you a quick summary without leaving the map.
What the panel shows
- Hydrant number -- Displayed as a heading at the top of the panel.
- Address -- The street address of the hydrant. If no address was entered, it shows "No address."
- Status -- A colored badge (green, yellow, or red) with the status name.
- Type -- Dry barrel, wet barrel, or a dash if no type was set.
- Street View preview -- A static photograph of the location from Google Street View. If the hydrant has a saved point of view (angle and zoom), the preview uses that saved angle. If Street View is not available for that location, the image area will be blank.
Actions from the panel
At the bottom of the panel you have two buttons:
- View Details -- Opens the full detail page for that hydrant, where you can see flow tests, maintenance history, inspections, and a larger map.
- Edit Hydrant -- Opens the edit form so you can update the hydrant's information right away.
Closing the panel
Click the X in the top-right corner of the panel, or click a different marker to switch to that hydrant instead.
Tip
The panel is a great way to quickly confirm a hydrant's status and location during an incident. Click the marker, check the address and status badge, and you know in seconds whether that hydrant is available.
