Once you are inside Hydrants, the menu stays the same on every page. Here is what each section does and when you would use it.

The Hydrants sub-navigation with Map View, Hydrant List, Add Hydrant, and Import tabs.

The menu

  • Map View -- This is the default page. It shows all of your hydrants on a Google Map with color-coded markers. Use it to find hydrants near a location, check their status at a glance, or click one for a quick summary.
  • Hydrant List -- A table view of every hydrant in your inventory. Use it when you need to sort, filter, or search through a large number of hydrants without scrolling around a map.
  • Add Hydrant -- Opens the form to create a new hydrant record. You can type an address, click a spot on the map, or let GPS fill in the location.
  • Import -- Upload a CSV file to add many hydrants at once. The system reads your column headers and maps them to the right fields automatically.

Where to start

If your agency already has hydrants loaded, start on the map. Zoom to your district, click a marker, and explore the detail page to see flow tests, maintenance, and inspections. If you are setting up the system for the first time, start with Import to load your existing data from a spreadsheet.

Tip

The map is your daily driver. Most users open it at the start of their shift, scan for out-of-service hydrants (red markers), and jump straight to the ones that need attention.
