Every time a pre-plan is approved, Fire takes a frozen snapshot of the entire document. The snapshot is stored as a version and the version number is bumped. The version trail is permanent -- you can look back at what was approved at any point in time.

What is in a snapshot

A snapshot captures the whole approved state of a pre-plan:

  • Every section and its content.
  • Every canvas, including the underlying image.
  • Every annotation on every canvas, with the original colors, shapes, and labels.
  • The pre-plan title, summary, response priority, and building link.
  • The approver and the approval timestamp.

Viewing past versions

  1. Open the pre-plan.
  2. Click the Versions tab.
  3. The list shows every approved version, newest first, with the version number, the approver, and the approval date.
  4. Click a version to view that exact snapshot.

What to know

  • Editing a pre-plan after it is approved does not change the snapshot. The snapshot is fixed -- that is the point.
  • When you approve a revised pre-plan, a new version is created with the new content. The old version is still on file.
  • If a future revision turns out to be wrong, the previous approved version is still intact and can be referenced.
