Inspections capture the visual and operational condition of a hydrant on a particular date. You can mark them pending, pass, or fail, attach photos, and flag follow-ups for the next crew.
Step by step
- Open the hydrant detail page.
- Click the Inspections tab.
- Click Add Inspection.
- Fill in the form.
- Click Save.
What to enter
- Scheduled Date -- When the inspection was planned. Optional.
- Completed Date -- When the inspection was actually finished. Leave blank if it is not done yet.
- Inspector -- The person who performed the inspection.
- Result -- Pass, Fail, or Pending.
- Deficiencies -- A list of issues found, one per line. Examples: a leaking cap, paint peeling, a stuck stem, brush blocking access.
- Photos -- Upload one or more photos. Drag to reorder them. Use the trash icon to remove one.
- Notes -- Free text for anything else worth saving.
- Follow-up Required -- Toggle on if the hydrant needs another visit.
What to know
- A hydrant's most recent completed inspection date shows in the Last Inspection column on the hydrant list. Sort by that column to find the hydrants that need attention.
- If you set the result to Fail, the hydrant's overall status does not change automatically. If the hydrant should be taken out of service, edit the hydrant and set its status to Out of Service.
