Maintenance records track the work your agency has done on a hydrant. Each record has a date, a work type, the technician, and an optional cost.

Step by step

  1. Open the hydrant detail page.
  2. Click the Maintenance tab.
  3. Click Add Record.
  4. Fill in the form.
  5. Click Save.

What to enter

  • Maintenance Date -- The day the work was performed.
  • Maintenance Type -- Pick one: Painting, Flushing, Repair, Winterization, Lubrication, Cap Replacement, Valve Repair, or Other.
  • Description -- A short summary of the work. Optional, but it makes the record useful a year later.
  • Parts Replaced -- List of parts swapped out, if any.
  • Technician -- The person who did the work.
  • Cost -- The cost in dollars. Optional.
  • Notes -- Anything else worth recording.

Examples

Annual flush. Maintenance Date is today, type is Flushing, description is "annual flush, ran clean after 30 seconds." No parts, no cost.

Stem repair. Type is Repair, description is "replaced operating stem after stuck-stem report," parts is "operating stem assembly," cost is the line item from the invoice.
