The Devices event type is for medical equipment you applied or used during the call — things like a cardiac monitor, CPAP, traction splint, or pelvic binder. This is different from supplies (which are billable disposables) and from procedures (which are actions you took).

Add a device event

  1. On the Timeline tab, tap Add Device.
  2. Pick the device.
  3. Enter the time you started using it.
  4. Enter any settings (for example, CPAP at 5 cmH2O).
  5. Pick the crew member.
  6. Tap Save.

An example

You respond to a CHF patient in respiratory distress. You apply CPAP at 5 cmH2O en route to the hospital. On the Timeline you add a Device event for CPAP, 5 cmH2O at the time you started it. The patient responds well — their respiratory rate drops from 36 to 22 by the time you arrive at the hospital. You record the change in your next vital set, and the timeline shows the CPAP application sitting right before the improvement.
