Some checksheet items ask for a signature. This is common for narcotics counts, equipment transfers, or any inspection that needs a person to formally sign off.

How to sign

  1. Find the signature item in the checksheet.
  2. A blank pad appears on screen.
  3. Use your finger on a touchscreen or your mouse on a computer to write your signature on the pad.
  4. If you make a mistake, click Clear to erase the pad and try again.
  5. When you are happy with it, click Save Signature. A preview of the captured signature appears below the pad once it is saved.

Tips for a good signature

  • On a phone, turn it sideways to get more room.
  • Use a stylus if you have one. It gives you more control than a fingertip.
  • Write at a normal size. You do not need to fill the entire pad.

An example

You and your partner are doing the morning narcotics count. The checklist has two signature fields at the bottom: one for the person counting and one for the witness. You count the vials, fill in the numbers, sign the first field, and click Save Signature. Your partner watches you count, confirms the numbers, signs the second field, and clicks Save Signature. Both signatures are now attached to the session. If anyone needs to verify the count later, they can pull up the completed session and see both signatures.

Can I change my signature after saving

As long as the session is still in progress, you can remove the saved signature and sign again. Once the session is submitted, the signature is locked and cannot be changed.
