You start a new checksheet session every time you need to run through a checklist. Each session is tied to a specific template, and it records your name, the date and time, and a unique reference code.

How to start a session

  1. From the main screen, find the template you want in the Start a CheckSheet area.
  2. Click the Start button on its card.
  3. A new session opens. You will see the checklist title, the version number, and a session reference code at the top.
  4. Begin filling out the first section.

What happens behind the scenes

When you start a session, Checksheets creates a record with your name and a six-character reference code, like A3F7K2. This code makes it easy to find and refer to your session later. The session starts in In Progress status and stays that way until you submit it.

An example

It is 0600 and you are starting your shift on Engine 4. Your captain asks you to do the morning truck check. You open Checksheets, find "Engine Daily Check" in the Start a CheckSheet area, and click Start. A new session opens. You walk out to the bay and start going through the checklist on your phone, checking each item as you inspect the rig.

What if the template you need is missing

If you do not see the template you need, there are a few possible reasons:

  • The template has not been published yet. Only published templates appear on the dashboard. Ask your administrator to check its status.
  • You are signed in to the wrong agency.
