Some checksheet items ask you to upload a file. This is useful for attaching photos of damage, scanned documents, or any other evidence that supports your inspection.

How to upload

  1. Find the file upload item in the checksheet.
  2. Click the upload button.
  3. Pick a file from your device. On a phone or tablet, you can also take a photo with your camera and upload it directly.
  4. Wait for the upload to finish. You will see a preview or file name when it is done.

Allowed file types

You can upload images (like photos from your phone camera) and PDF documents. Other file types are not accepted.

How many files

Each upload item has a maximum number of files you can attach. Your administrator sets this limit when building the template. If you reach the limit, you will need to remove an existing file before you can add another.

An example

You are doing a daily truck check and you notice a crack in the windshield. The checklist has an item called "Windshield condition" with a pass/fail field. You select Fail. The next item is "Photo of damage" with a file upload field. You tap the upload button, your phone opens the camera, you take a photo of the crack, and the photo uploads. Now your officer has a visual record of the damage along with your inspection report.

Tip: When taking photos for a checksheet, make sure the subject is well-lit and in focus. A blurry photo of a cracked gauge does not help anyone. Take an extra second to get a clear shot.
