Checksheets uses your agency's timezone setting to display all dates and times. If the times on your sessions look wrong, the timezone may need to be updated.
How to set it
- Open the profile menu and click Settings (admins only).
- On the Settings overview, click Manage preferences.
- In the Timezone dropdown, pick the right timezone for your agency. The list covers US, Canada, and Mexico zones and shows each one with its UTC offset, like
America/New_York (UTC-05:00). - Click Save.
What it affects
The timezone setting affects how every date and time is displayed in the app. This includes session start times, submission times, and any timestamps in reporting. The actual data is stored in a standard format, so changing the timezone does not change when events happened. It only changes how the times are shown.
An example
Your agency is in the Eastern timezone but the timezone is set to UTC. A crew member submits a checksheet at 8:00 AM local time, but it shows up in reporting as 1:00 PM. You open Settings, click Manage preferences, change the timezone to America/New_York, and click Save. Now all times display correctly as Eastern time. The submission shows 8:00 AM.
Tip: Set the timezone as one of the first things you do when your agency starts using Checksheets. It is easy to miss, and it will confuse everyone if the times are off by several hours.
