You can edit any hydrant from two places: the detail page and the hydrant list.
From the detail page
- Open the hydrant's detail page (click a marker on the map, then View Details, or click the hydrant in the list).
- Click the Edit button in the top-right corner.
- The edit form opens with all of the hydrant's current information pre-filled.
- Make your changes and click Update Hydrant.
From the hydrant list
- Open the Hydrant List from the menu.
- Find the hydrant in the table.
- Click the Edit action in that row.
What you can change
Every field on the hydrant form is editable, including the location, status, connections, and notes. See the Adding a hydrant article for details on each field.
Changing the location
If a hydrant was entered with the wrong address, you can fix it by typing a new address in the address field or clicking a new spot on the map. The coordinates update automatically.
Deleting a hydrant
If you need to remove a hydrant entirely, open the detail page and click Delete. You will be asked to confirm before the hydrant is removed. Deleting a hydrant also removes its flow tests, maintenance records, and inspections.
Tip
If a hydrant is temporarily out of service, change its status to Out of Service instead of deleting it. That way the marker stays on the map (in red) and your crew knows to skip it. When the repair is done, change the status back to Active.
