When to change your password

Change your password if you think someone else knows it, if your agency requires periodic changes, or if you just want something more secure. This is different from the "forgot password" process — here you already know your current password and you are changing it while signed in.

The Password section of My Settings with current password, new password, and confirmation fields.

Step by step

  1. Click your name in the menu.
  2. Click My Settings.
  3. Find the password section.
  4. Enter your current password.
  5. Enter your new password.
  6. Enter the new password again to confirm it.
  7. Click Update Password.

Password requirements

Your new password must be at least eight characters long. Use a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols for the best security.

What happens after you change it

You stay signed in on the device you are using. However, any other devices where you were signed in — for example, a station tablet or a second computer — will be signed out. You will need to sign in again on those devices with the new password.

Tip: If you suspect someone else has access to your account, change your password immediately and then let your supervisor know. Do not wait until your next shift.
