When to move stock
Move inventory from one location to another when you restock a vehicle from the supply room, move surplus from one station to another, or swap items between bags.
How to move stock
- Click Locations in the menu.
- Open the source location — the place the items are leaving.
- Find the row for the product (and the specific lot, if lot-tracked) you want to move.
- Click the Move action on that row.
- In the Destination field, pick where the items are going.
- Enter the Qty to move.
- Click Create.
The source count drops by that quantity and the destination count goes up by the same amount. Both sides are recorded in the transaction history.
Pulling stock into a location (the other way)
You can also start from the destination side. Open the destination location, click Add items, set Stock source to Move from another location, and pick the source location in the Taken from location field. This is useful when you know where something is going but want to confirm what's being taken.
Worked example
After a busy shift, Medic 5 used 6 of its 10 cervical collars. You need to restock from the supply room:
- Click Locations, then open Station 1 — Supply Room.
- Find the Cervical Collar, Adult row.
- Click Move.
- Destination: Medic 5
- Qty: 6
- Click Create.
The supply room count drops by 6, and Medic 5's count goes up by 6.
Tips
- If the item is lot-tracked, the lot number and expiration date travel with it to the new location automatically.
- After restocking a vehicle, check that the new counts match the vehicle template so any miscounts surface immediately.
