Who can change this
The Settings page is only reachable for users with the Admin role in the company. Settings opens from the user menu at the bottom of the navigation.
Why timezone matters
Inventory records every transaction with a timestamp. If the timezone is wrong, your records show the wrong time for checkouts, receives, transfers, and adjustments. That causes confusion during audits and when reviewing reports.
Setting the timezone
- Click your initials at the bottom of the navigation, then click Settings.
- On the Settings sub-menu, click Preferences.
- Open the Timezone dropdown and pick your agency's timezone — for example,
America/New_YorkorAmerica/Chicago. The list covers US, Canadian, and Mexican zones and shows each one with its current UTC offset. - Click Save.
The saved timezone applies to timestamps, reports, and scheduling across the app.
Tips
- If your agency spans multiple time zones, choose the one where your headquarters or primary dispatch center is located. Consistency across the agency matters more than matching every station exactly.
- Set the timezone as one of the first things you do when setting up Inventory.
