Products vs. on-hand stock

A product is the definition of something you track — for example, "4x4 Gauze Pads." The actual units sitting at a specific location make up the on-hand stock for that product at that location. The Inventory page brings these together so you can see, for each product, how many units your agency has in total.

Opening the Inventory page

Click Inventory in the menu. This page is titled Inventory and is visible to admin users only.

Understanding the list

Each row shows:

  • Item — the product name.
  • Type — Drug or General.
  • Category, SKU, and Strength — can be toggled on or off using the column toggle.
  • On Hand — the total quantity across all locations.

Use the search box at the top of the table to filter by name. Two filters are available: Item type (All items, Drugs only, General inventory) and Locations (Internal only or All locations).

Worked example

You want to check how many cervical collars your agency has:

  1. Click Inventory in the menu.
  2. Type "cervical collar" in the search box.
  3. The list shows the product with its total count — say, 14 units.
  4. Click the arrow icon (Open) on the row to see the breakdown by location: 6 at Station 1, 4 at Station 2, 2 on Medic 5, 2 on Medic 7.

Now you know exactly where your collars are and whether any location is running low.

Tip

Check the Inventory list before placing a supply order. You may find that you have plenty of stock — it is just in the wrong location. A quick move from one place to another can solve the problem without spending money.
