When to export

Exporting gives you a spreadsheet of all your products. This is useful when you need to:

  • Share your product list with a supplier for quoting.
  • Review products offline or in a meeting.
  • Back up your product data.
  • Prepare a file for import into another system.

How to export

  1. From the menu, click Import Inventory.
  2. Click Download My Products in the top right.
  3. A CSV file downloads to your computer.

The file uses the same columns as the import template, so you can edit it and feed it back into the importer. Each row carries package_ndc, sku, product_id, product_name, and category_path for one of your products. The stock-related columns (location_code, quantity, lot_number, expires_on, stock_source, unit_price, notes) are left blank — the export is your product list, not a snapshot of balances.

Working with the exported file

Open the CSV in any spreadsheet program. You can sort, filter, and organize the data however you like. If you want to use the file to bulk-load stock, fill in the blank columns (at least location_code and quantity) and upload it back through the importer.

Tips

  • Export your product list before making large changes. If something goes wrong, you have a snapshot to compare against.
  • The export includes every product your agency has, active or not. Sort or filter the rows in your spreadsheet to narrow it down.
